YAY! Google Ads To Follow Our Every Mobile Step, with Sprint
Poor Google! It hasn’t been able to get any wireless love, TILL NOW, thanks to the “we have to try harder” number three wireless player Sprint!
With no iPhone to call its own and the world not singing its network praises, what is Sprint to do, but hitch its wireless prospects to the mighty Google logo.
Sprint has seen the WiMAX mobile Internet future, and it is a Googley one. First, the high-level spin, second, the grand Google mobile consumer tracking and “targeted, relevant” ad serving vision.
1) Sprint is developing a nationwide advanced wireless broadband network that is being designed to mobilize the Internet, deliver new mobile applications to customers and establish an Interent destination for user-generated content and multimedia offerings.
2) Sprint network bandwidth and location detection and presence capabilities will be matched with Google’s communications suite–Google Apps for Gmail, Calendar & Talk.
Bottom Google Sprint line? The “new form of interactive communications” that Sprint has in store aims to be Google fueled “local and location-centric” services, every consumer step of the ad supported way, literally. No safe car harbor, either, “eventually.”
The Google Sprint “social mobile Internet portal is a while away, as well; Nothing will be available until next Spring, with a full rollout planned by end 2008.
Who knows, by then Google may have its own wireless network for mobile ad delivery in the works, to the tune of $4.6 billion payable to the U.S. government.
