Zoho to the Facebook Rescue? CEO Mocks Zuckerberg Detractors
Why has Zoho CEO Sridhar Vembu taken to his company blog to seemingly mock Aaron Greenspan and ConnectU because they have publicly discussed their intimate knowledge of what they claim is Mark Zuckerberg’s dubious Facebook beginnings?
Zoho corporate parent AdventNet self-describes itself as “a software company with a broad portfolio of elegantly designed, affordable products and Web services.” Perhaps, but the inelegant, Zoho blog post headlined “I think I may have accidentally invented Facebook…” presents as an accidental company faux-pas.
Surprising, given Zoho’s ordnarily deft handling of its blog, and the blogosphere, to spur (paid and non-paid) blogger love.
On the eve of its BIG Office 2.0 announcement–SEE my exclusive report Office 2.0 Enterprise Showdown: Zoho vs. Google Apps vs. Microsoft–the Zoho blog would undoubtedly be better used by continuing to focus on positive Zoho talk, rather than turning to negative Facebook musings.
Perhaps Vembu is still smarting from ”accusations” about Zoho’s own beginnings, when “we were attacked as copy-cats,” Vembu has said, at his personal blog.
