Proud Googler, and Postini founder, Scott Petry is beaming like an anti-Microsoft peacock today because he and Google believe they are saving the enterprise world from ”Exchange server choking” hell.
BUT Google is the one choking, at the expense of its own GOOG!
YAY! 25 gigabytes storage, thanks to Mountain View’s “raw horsepower.” If the Google Postini solution is an allmighty one though, why is Google giving it away, to the tune of a billion dollars worth or more?
Google has been deemed to be waging a “barbaric” attack on Microsoft’s enterprise turf and the Googleplex is hailing its enterprise superiority to Redmond: Why then is Google AFRAID to charge ANYTHING for its purported corporate life saving services?

Postini currently has 11 million users; With Google behind it, why not double the base: 20 million users @ $50 Google Apps fee waived = A billion dollars out of Google’s pockets.
Google belives it is playing a shrewd lock-in game. Come July 2008, however, Google may very well be in be in for a rude awakening when 20 million executives do NOT hand over their credit cards to Google Apps, via Google Checkout, the OTHER GOOG subsidized purported Google ”killer” diversification.
